Homecoming 2023

NWU Homecoming 2023

Saturday September 30th, 10am

2800 N. 50th St. Lincoln, NE

All are welcome to the chapter house for a short recap of the year, house tours and refreshments.

Update from the undergrads

Gamma Phi Alumni,

It is a great pleasure to reach out and update everyone upon the Brotherhood and the events happening; both on the Nebraska Wesleyan Campus and in the Chapter. Please do not hesitate to reach out with comments, concerns, and questions. If you are ever in Lincoln, stop by the Chapter, our doors are always open to Brothers that have come before us.

Fall Retreat/Home improvement Our Brothers moved in on August 10th this year. Move-in was a whirlwind of activity, Room 10 was given a new look by the guys living there this year by painting the room and bunks. The next days contained numerous hours of brotherhood bonding through Chapter House cleaning and improving.

Between yard work, carrying countless couches up and down the stairs, kitchen clean up, and game room rearrangement, the Chapter House has never looked better. Last semester, the Chapter was able to purchase new couches in the upstairs living room, they have been used a lot by our brothers.

Recruitment Our recruiting for the fall pledge class has been done at an extremely high level. Our recruitment chair, Jacob Balfany, has done a phenomenal job in generating interest around joining the Theta Chi Brotherhood. Our events for this year’s recruitment were: Monday - house tours, Tuesday - lawn games, Wednesday - dodgeball, Thursday - S'mores, Friday - new member dinner. We are extremely excited about the 15 new Pledges of the Theta Chi Fraternity!

Service & Philanthropy The Brotherhood has been diving into community service opportunities every chance they get. Helping to move the freshmen in was a fun way to help the Nebraska Wesleyan community and spread the word about going Greek and more importantly, going Theta Chi. Our Highway cleanup project was also a major success, and the chapter is eager to get out and continue giving back to our community. In terms of our yearly philanthropy dances, Toga party was a huge success. The Gamma Phi chapter raised $2100 for the United Service Organization!

Athletics/Clubs/Campus Organizations Our Brotherhood extends well into campus, reaching into 4 different sports and countless clubs. Theta Chi is represented well across the NWU golf, tennis, swim, and cross country/track and fi eld teams. Gamma Phi is also heavily involved with campus organizations; our brothers Matt Wishard and Louis Gilmore hold the positions of parliamentarian and vice president on the Student Affairs Senate.

Homecoming (Colley Award - Kyle Goodban) We are overjoyed to inform you that our former president Kyle Goodban has received the Colley Award from the Grand Theta Chi Chapter! Congratulations Kyle!!! To celebrate this momentous achievement, we are inviting all Gamma Phi alumni back for homecoming weekend where Kyle will be presented with this esteemed award.

Thank you all for your continued support, we are truly blessed to have such an amazing collection of Alumni to lean upon. Please enjoy the following photos of the Brotherhood you helped create.

Fraternally, Jakob Cadwallader Gamma Phi Alumni Chair.
